Astana Akim presents city development plans for 2023

On January 27, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received Mayor of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek, who reported on the social and economic development of the capital city in 2022 and the Astana development plans for 2023, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.

It was noted that the city administration is taking consistent efforts to build social facilities, develop residential areas and support small and medium-sized businesses. This work is being done in accordance with the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan.

The Astana Akim reported that 25 new schools for 100,000 schoolchildren are being designed under the Comfortable School Project, and construction work on these schools will begin this year.

The President was informed about the progress in the construction of a drinking water station (NFS-3), a thermal power plant and gas thermal power plants.

According to the Akimat, the NFS-3 will have a capacity of over 100 cubic metres per day, and the Turan gas thermal station will allow heating up to 8 million square metres of homes. The support facilities are to be put into operation in 2023.

The President gave specific instructions for the further development of Astana.
