President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent congratulatory messages to Indian leader Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister of the South Asian country Narendra Modi on the occasion of the Republic Day, a national holiday dedicated to the adoption of the Constitution of India and turning the nation into a republic, «Turkmenistan today» reports.
Berdimuhamedov stressed that cooperation between Ashgabat and New Delhi is based on the principles of openness, mutual respect, trust and friendship. He highly appreciated the current level of interstate cooperation.
According to the President of Turkmenistan, positive results have been achieved in politics, trade, economy, culture, as well as in the humanitarian field. Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the ties between the states will continue to strengthen, taking into account the interests of the two peoples.
In April last year, the President of India paid an official visit to Ashgabat for the first time in history. As part of the trip, the countries signed a package of documents on the development of relations in the economic, cultural and scientific fields.
