President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev visited the car plant to learn about its activities and discuss the opportunities for further development during his working visit to Kostanay Region, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.
Last year, the car plant produced the goods worth 614.2 billion tenge. Exports amounted to 21.5 billion tenge. More than 2,000 people work tirelessly at the plant.
The car plant managers reported that the new line is designed to manufacture Kia Sportage vehicles. CKD is a small-scale production, which includes vehicle assembly, welding and painting. Kia deployed these manufacturing technologies only in Kazakhstan among the Central Asian countries and the CIS.
«Indeed, the plant is impressive. Very clean production, high production culture. A Kia Sportage has just been shown to us. Its quality is very good. Therefore, I think that the demand will be high. We will invite investors to expand the enterprise. In my opinion, the plant should not have any problems in the future. We attach great importance to the support of young people,» the President emphasised during a conversation with the young workers.
It is planned to launch a Kia Cerato assembly line this year. For this purpose, the plant has established partnerships with institutions of technical education. The construction of a modern training campus for 250 specialists has started.
