Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits Central Military Hospital of Ministry of Defence

On January 13, Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Central Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defence. He inspected the work and conditions at the hospital, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The President was informed that large-scale construction and repair work was done, medical equipment was modernised and clinical management was introduced at the hospital. The hospital that serves military personnel, their families and veterans free of charge has 700 beds. It renders paid services to other categories of patients.

After inspecting the conditions at the hospital, Mirziyoyev noted that similar clinics should be built in the regions and gave specific instructions on the treatment of non-military patients.

The President visited the Military Medical Academy of the Armed Forces, built next to the Central Military Hospital. He inspected the work and conditions at the Academy. Mirziyoyev focused on the content of training at the Academy.

«The building and conditions are good, but this is only the beginning. Now the main thing is to understand the concept and essence of military medicine and provide proper training. To do this, a teaching and practical research system based on international practices needs to be set tup. This system should be an alternative and competitor to other medical universities, its graduates should act as a benchmark in their field,» the President emphasised, giving instructions to introduce international management practices at the Academy and send the first graduates for internships to Turkey and South Korea.
