Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and his colleague from the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amirabdollahian discussed issues of interstate cooperation during a phone conversation. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by the press office of the Iranian ministry.
Hossein Amirabdollahian congratulated his colleague on the New Year. He expressed hope that relations between the countries will be taken to the next level.
Rashid Meredov, in turn, noted that Ashgabat and Tehran need to continue negotiations to strengthen ties in areas of mutual interest.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in June 2022. The leaders of the two countries agreed to sign a partnership agreement for twenty years. As part of the working trip, 9 memorandums of understanding and cooperation in economy, trade, science, culture, transport, and environmental protection were signed.
