On January 6, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks via videoconference with Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih during his working trip to Urgench, the press office of the Ministry reported.
The interlocutors exchanged views on growing partnerships between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia in the trade, economic, investment and energy sectors and the progress of the implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Saudi Arabia last summer.
Discussing the prospects of energy cooperation, Laziz Kudratov and Khalid al-Falih considered implementing the development project of the Kungrad wind farm in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and launching green hydrogen production.
The interlocutors put forward specific proposals to accelerate the implementation of joint projects in the alternative energy, telecommunications, chemical, pharmaceutical, health, banking, agricultural and trade sectors. They discussed the possibilities of boosting cooperation with the Saudi companies, including Sabis, Saudi Telecom, Dr Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group, Jamjoom Pharma, Al Rajhi International, Ajlan & Bros Holding Group and Al Hokair Group, and the Saudi National Bank.
