Minister of Defence of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Mirzo arrived in Minsk for an official visit, Head of the International Military Cooperation Department, Assistant to the Defence Minister for Foreign Military Policy of the Republic of Belarus Valery Revenko reported on his page on the social network.
Mirzo will meet with the high-ranking officials during his visit. They will discuss aspects of bilateral cooperation on security.
The Republics are allies within the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The states maintain an active political dialogue and interact on international platforms.
Last October, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko paid an official visit to Dushanbe. He met with the Tajik leader Emomali Rahmon. The two leaders discussed the prospects for promoting bilateral interaction.
The Republic of Belarus and Tajikistan established diplomatic relations on September 5, 1996.
