The final tournament of the Turkmen Tennis Cup was organized at the Ashgabat stadium. Sixteen people took part in the sports competition. These were young men and women. It was reported by the government electronic newspaper «Golden Age».
In the men’s singles, the first place was taken by 26-year-old Atlymurad Kurbanov, a member of the national team of Turkmenistan. Silver medal was won by Yuriy Rogusskiy, the current champion of the state. The third place was taken by 23-year-old Hajimurad Chariyev, a serviceman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In the women’s singles, the best result was shown by Ilim Huseynova, a student of the tennis academy «Ashgabat». She is a seventh-grader. The second and third places were taken by the school students Rozhan Karajayeva and Meryem Muhammedova.
Almost all the winners are trained by Mirali Hasanov, the head coach of the national team of the Central Asian country.
As part of the cup, a tournament among children under 10 years old was held as well. Alireza Meredova was the best among the boys, and Sulgun Ishanguliyeva took the first place among the girls. The event was organized by the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan.
