On December 26, Speaker of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan Rapil Zhoshybaev. The interlocutors discussed the prospects for promoting bilateral cooperation, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reports.
They focused on increasing commodity turnover, emphasising that the countries plan to increase bilateral trade to $2 billion, and exchanged views on the ways of removing border barriers.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan informed about his diplomatic activities and the future projects in the energy, communications and transport sectors.
Speaking about the intensification of interregional cooperation, the diplomat said it is planned to hold a forum of heads of local government bodies from the two countries.
Zhoshybaev noted that Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev would pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
