Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda met with Director of Regional Office for Central Asia of KfW Development Bank Andreas Schneider in Dushanbe. The grant agreements were signed during the talks, the press office reported to CentralAsia.news in the press service of the department.
The 20 million euros grant aims at driving economic development of rural areas through using climate resilient lands and reducing disaster risk in the cities of Kulyab and Penjikent, Ayni and Rasht districts and Muminabad village.
The 1.5 million euros grant aims at fighting tuberculosis in Tajikistan. Financial resources will be spend on the construction and equipment of the National Children’s Tuberculosis Hospital in Dushanbe. Earlier, 3.5 million euros were allocated for these purposes within financial partnerships between the two countries.
Since 2002, more than 310 million euros have been provided within Tajikistan-Germany cooperation to implement projects in the Central Asian country.
