Government of Kazakhstan to allocate 1 trillion tenge to boost rural incomes

On December 12, Chairman of the Government of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov has reported on state measures to increase citizens’ incomes at an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. He said the project has been launched to boost rural incomes by expanding access to microcredit. In 2023, it is planned to allocate 70 billion tenge for this purpose, the press office of the Prime Minister reported to CentralAsia.news.

«In general, it is planned to allocate 1 trillion tenge within 5 years for the implementation of the project, which will cover more than one million rural residents,» Smailov said.

The project envisages involving half of all private households in cooperative entrepreneurship. In this regard, it is expected to create over 350,000 new jobs.

The Prime Minister said the programme aimed at increasing citizens’ incomes until 2025 continues. It has enabled to raise salaries for 3 million people, including doctors’ salaries by 30%, teachers’ salaries by 25%, public sector employees’ salaries by 20% and industrial workers’ salaries by 10-50%.

The Government is taking active measures to stimulate job creation. This year, over 830,000 people, including 233,000 young people, were employed.
