On December 8, the Uzbekistan adult boxing championships started in Tashkent, the press office of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reports.
Minister of Sports Development Adkham Ikramov, Secretary General of the NOC Oybek Kasimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, First Deputy Chairman of the Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan Saken Polatov and other sports officials attended the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the heads of sports organisations noted the high level of Uzbek athletes, who show high results at world and Asian championships. In particular, the Uzbek athletes ranked first in the team event at the recent World Championships in Spain.
A champion of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Bakhodir Jalolov held a bout on the first day of the championships. He easily defeated his opponent and qualified to the next stage of the championships.
The referee team included representatives not only from Uzbekistan, but also from other countries, which will ensure unbiased referee judgment.
