Alikhan Smailov visits residents of Ekibastuz left without heat

On the evening of November 30, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov made a working trip to Ekibastuz, Pavlodar Region. On November 27, several technical accidents in the municipal heat networks occurred, which led to the disruption in heat supply to the houses of local residents, the press office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

After inspecting the current situation at the thermal power plant and listening to the reports of the local high-ranking officials, Smailov noted that the Task Force had been set up and all necessary resources had been deployed to improve the situation.

“It was difficult to identify emergency sites during the first days after the accidents. As of today, the heat networks have been restored fully. Today or tomorrow, all residential buildings will be connected to the heat networks,” Alikhan Smailov said.

The Prime Minister inspected the progress of repair works and visited the residents, who are still without heat in their homes.

The Chairman of the Government said the main causes for the disruption in heat supply are the deterioration of heat supply networks, the lack of funds for modernization and the connivance of the heads of the heating plant. He noted that an investigation is underway, which will identify and bring to justice all those guilty. The Prime Minister noted that investments will be allocated to upgrade the infrastructure facilities of the thermal power plant and heat networks in the city.
