In Ashgabat, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society Neda Berger. The speaker of one of the chambers of the parliament commended the role of the foreign representative in strengthening interstate relations, as reported by «Turkmenistan today».
First of all, Berdimuhamedov appreciated Berger’s participation in the festivities on the territory of Turkmenistan. The speaker said that the chairman of the Turkmen-Austrian Society takes an active part in these events, and he thanked her for that. He also pointed out the importance of Berger’s work within rapprochement between Ashgabat and Vienna.
Particular attention was paid to the important role of the Turkmen-Austrian Society in expanding the interaction between the states at the bilateral and international levels.
The Turkmen-Austrian Society was established after the first official visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Vienna on August 18, 2008. A few years later, in 2013, the organization received international status.
