On November 25, a new Zarafshon oina glass plant with a capacity of 12 million square metres of glass per year was put into operation in Zarafshan, Navoi Region. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the solemn opening ceremony of the new enterprise, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
Navoi Region is one of the most industrialized regions of Uzbekistan. There are the chemical, energy and mining enterprises and the deposits of quartz sand, kaolin, marble and basalt on its territory.
On average, Uzbekistan needs 38 million square metres of building glass per year. The plants in Jizzakh and Ferghana supply glass to the enterprises and construction sites throughout the country, and now the enterprise in Zarafshan has joined them. It will supply its products to local construction sites and foreign countries. The plant created 700 new jobs.
During his trip to Navoi Region, President Mirziyoyev visited the Hydro Stanko Service machine-building enterprise, and got acquainted via videoconference with the activities of the Marmarobod marble and granite enterprise in Gazgan.
