Kyrgyzstan invites EU and Central Asian states to invest in energy sector

On November 18, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aybek Moldogaziyev addressed the EU-Central Asia Connectivity Conference in Samarkand, informing about the transition of the country to the green economy and sustainable and carbon-free energy, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Given the significant potential of Kyrgyzstan to develop renewable energy, including hydroelectric power plants, the participants were invited to invest in this promising industry.

This step is expected to bring Kyrgyzstan closer to become the regional centre of clean electricity exports and significantly contribute to achieving regional environmental security.

Noting the importance of the humanitarian component of connectivity, Moldogaziyev stressed that it is the talented and well-educated youth of the region that will become its point of growth. In this regard, he proposed investing in the human potential of the region and opening more educational institutions that develop new technologies and innovations.
