Important aspects of Uzbekistan-Russia cooperation discussed

On October 23, the Uzbekistan-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation held a regular meeting in Tashkent, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan reported.

The members of the delegation of the Russian Federation headed by Deputy Chairman of the Government – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and the heads of key ministries and departments of Uzbekistan and Russia attended the meeting.

The participants discussed the current state and prospects for promoting partnerships in the trade, economic, industrial, investment, transport and logistics sectors and the cultural and humanitarian exchange.

The parties agreed to diversify and increase mutual trade. Discussing the aspects of investment cooperation, the parties expressed interest in developing new joint projects and speeding up the ongoing ones in the petrochemical, mining, metallurgical, light, building materials, pharmaceutical, medical, energy and fruit and vegetable processing sectors.

Following the meeting, the participants signed the Final Protocol and a number of bilateral documents aimed at enhancing economic cooperation as agreed during the meeting.
