Sadyr Japarov launches construction of hydroelectric power station Kulanak village in Naryn Region

On October 21, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov laid a capsule in the foundation of a hydroelectric power station in Kulanak village in Naryn Region. In his speech, the Kyrgyz leaders said various areas of development of renewable energy are currently being explored. Among them great attention is paid to the construction of small hydropower plants, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The Kyrgyz leader expressed belief that thanks to citizens who is not indifferent to the future of the state, the people of Kyrgyzstan will live in prosperity and have ample opportunities for development.

According to experts, the hydropower plant will create from 800 to 1,000 new jobs. After the facility is built and put into operation, about 100 people will receive permanent jobs.

The President emphasised that the construction of the hydropower plant would bring great benefits to the energy and economic sectors, as well as allow irrigating agricultural fields.

The total project cost is $124 million, of which $88 million will be provided in loans by financial institutions.
