Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia further aim at promoting investment cooperation

On October 17, First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks via videoconference with Deputy Minister for Investor Outreach of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Badr Al Badr, the press office of the Ministry reported.

The interlocutors discussed further steps to promote partnerships in the investment, energy, trade and economic sectors.

Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia have been fruitfully cooperating in the energy sector for many years: Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power is implementing the construction projects of solar and wind plants and engaged in five projects worth $4 billion in Uzbekistan.

38 enterprises with the Saudi Arabia’s capital operate in Uzbekistan, and over the past five years their number has increased fivefold an average. The projects in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, healthcare, agriculture and trade are being implemented jointly with Sabic, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group, Al Rajhi International, Ajlan & Bros, Al Hokair Group and Jamjoom Pharma.

The interlocutors agreed to promote cooperation and monitor the implementation of all agreements and projects.
