Berdimuhamedov visits Astana to attend CIS Summit and Central Asia-Russia Summit

On October 14, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Astana to participate in the CIS Summit and the Central Asia-Russian Federation Summit. The government officials of Kazakhstan greeted the Turkmen guest at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, the Turkmenistan Today State News Agency reported.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan takes a proactive approach to addressing pressing issues on the global agenda and makes a significant contribution to concerting efforts to ensure peace, security and stability and enhancing fruitful cooperation for the benefit of all.

After the official greeting ceremony, the motorcade of the leader of Turkmenistan headed to the venue of the meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of State.

The leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and the Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary are attending the event, chaired by the President of Kazakhstan. The results of Kazakhstan’s Chairmanship in the CIS will be reviewed, interstate documents will be signed and the CIS Chairmanship in 2023 will be transferred to Kyrgyzstan.

As was reported, the state visit of the Turkmen delegation will begin on October 15. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev will discuss a wide range of aspects of interaction and topical issues on the regional agenda.
