Turkmenistan’s GDP grows 6.2 percent in 9 months of 2022

Evaluating the performance of the sectors of the national economy for 9 months of the year at a government meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the work done during this period vividly illustrates sustainable development of the country, despite the global economic slowdown. GDP grew 6.2 percent and external trade turnover increased by 40 percent compared to the same period of 2021, the Turkmenistan Today State News Agency reported.

This year, capital investments have been spent 13 percent more than last year, exceeding 20 billion manats.

Addressing the heads of departments and government members, Berdimuhamedov emphasised that everyone must work diligently and take all necessary measures to finish the year with positive results in all sectors of the economy and stable GDP growth. Concluding the discussion of the economic development, the President instructed to hold a meeting on the 2023 State Budget and review in detail all its articles.
