Constitutional reforms enter social life strictly on schedule

On October 3, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a working meeting with Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament Yerlan Koshanov, who informed the President about the current legislative activity, the press office of Akorda reported.

The parliamentarian reported on the finalisation of the Laws On the Commissioner for Human Rights, On the Constitutional Court and On the Prosecutor’s Office and amendments to some legal acts. The experts were involved to consider the above documents which was made open to the public and the media. All the draft laws were submitted to the Senate.

Yerlan Koshanov noted that the promotion of these documents is the embodiment of the provisions of the constitutional reform, which was given life at a referendum in June this year. The newly introduced provisions will strengthen the legal protection of citizens of Kazakhstan and expand their participation in the political biography of the country, the Chairman of the Mazhilis stressed.

The Chairman of the Mazhilis briefed the President on the progress of the implementation of the strategy for combining priorities within parliamentary diplomacy in collaboration with the legislatures of foreign states. Reporting on the international aspects, he said the Turkic community supported the intention of Kazakhstan to host the 5th World Nomad Games in 2024.
