Rahmon launches rice harvesting campaign and opens school during his trip to Tursunzade

On October 3, President of the Republic of Tajikistan arrived in Tursunzade. The Tajik leader visited the Islam farm, where he launched the rice harvesting campaign, and opened a school named after Mirzo Tursunzade during the trip, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.

The Tajik leader opened a school named after Mirzo Tursunzade, built with financial assistance of entrepreneur Akhror Soliev.

The three-storey building of the educational institution has 16 classrooms, where 400 children will gain knowledge. They will be taught in the Tajik, Russian and English languages.

There is a football field on the territory of the school that offers teenagers and young people conditions conducive to playing sports.

Rahmon visited the Islam farm and inspected the progress of rice harvesting.

The farm occupies an area of 1.2 hectares. Now farmers are sowing rice for the second time. They have harvested 2.5 tonnes of rice.

Farmers of the Islam farm also grow turnips, tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic, beets, peppers and greens.

The Tajik leader talked to the local farmers and gave them recommendations on efficient land use, which would help increase agricultural output.
