On September 30, a solemn event was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan to mark International Translation Day, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.
The employees of the Central Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bureau of Translators under the Ministry and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov took part in the meeting.
The Minister noted that the Bureau of Translators, set up at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan in 2018, allowed bringing the quality of translation activities to a new level. The Bureau consists of young specialists who know many foreign languages. They work at international conferences, seminars and forums involving representatives of other countries, including the recent Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand.
The Bureau trains professional translators for diplomatic missions.
The programme of the event included the awards ceremony of the best employees of the Bureau of Translators. Vladimir Norov talked to the specialists of the Bureau and had a joint photo taken.
