Jamshid Khodjaev meets with representatives of Uzbekistan’s textile industry

On September 26, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held a meeting with clothing and knitwear manufacturers and exporters, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported.

The participants discussed the challenges facing manufacturers which impede intensive industry progress and export growth.

The representatives of more than a hundred garment and textile factories from all over the country, whose products find their buyers abroad, took part in the meeting. The discussion focused on the supply of raw materials, the introduction of international standards in manufacturing processes and the surge in exports.

Specific proposals to remove shortcomings and obstacles to the activities of enterprises were made, and instructions were given to the officials to provide assistance and support to entrepreneurs and take measures to remove shortcomings.

Over the past five years, Uzbekistan’s textile industry has shown steady growth: 340 projects worth almost $3 billion have been implemented, industrial output has reached 64 trillion soums, which is 5 times more than that before 2017, and the number of jobs in the industry has increased.
