Citizens of Kyrgyzstan and the Maldives no longer need visas to travel

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubayev met with his Maldivian counterpart Abdulla Shahid on the sidelines of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The officials signed an intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa exemption between Kyrgyzstan and the Maldives, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

This document was signed to expand the geography of the visa-free regime between the two states.

The agreement envisages that citizens of Kyrgyzstan and the Maldives are exempt from visas to enter, exit, transit through and stay temporarily in the territory of the Parties for up to 1 month.

Following the meeting, the officials expressed mutual intention to promote friendly relations and comprehensive interaction between the two countries.

As was reported, Jeenbek Kulubayev held a number of fruitful meetings with his foreign counterparts and the heads of international organisations during his visit to New York.
