Uzbek Foreign Minister attends C5+1 ministerial meeting

On September 22, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov took part in the C5+1 Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian countries and the United States, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.

Minister Norov led the Uzbek delegation to New York to participate in the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly. The foreign ministers and ministry officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and the United States attended the meeting.

The talks among the ministry officials from the Central Asian countries and the United States focused on building up trade and investment cooperation to achieve sustainable development of the countries of the region.

Speaking at the meeting, Vladimir Norov noted the progress in cooperation in the C5+1 format. The participants put forward the initiatives to adopt international standards in the agricultural and textile sectors, create alternative transport corridors, ensure food security and use green technologies in Central Asia.
