Japarov reports on education reform in Kyrgyzstan at UN Summit

On September 23, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov participated in the UN Transforming Education Summit via videoconference, which was held in New York. The Chairman of the Government reported on ongoing education reform in the country, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan reports.

“Being aware of the importance of raising the national education system to a level that meets modern realities, the Kyrgyz Republic is implementing drastic reforms,” Japarov said.

He reported that nearly all schools in the country are connected to the Internet and measures are being taken to develop digital libraries and provide access for schoolchildren, teachers and parents to thousands of video lessons in all school subjects on the education online portal.

The Prime Minister informed about the transition to the 12-year education system.

He said the World Rectors’ Forum “The Role of Universities in Building a National Innovation Ecosystem” was held in the Republic jointly with the World Intellectual Property Organization.
