Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan aim to simplify trade procedures

On September 10, Minister of Trade of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin met with First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev during his official visit to Kyrgyzstan. The politicians reviewed the progress of the implementation of the Industrial Trade and Logistics Complex at the Karasu and Ak-Tilek road checkpoints, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Speaking at the second meeting of the working group on bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that Kyrgyzstan has become one of the main trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan in the Central Asian region.

“According to statistics of Kazakhstan, in January-June 2022, bilateral trade amounted to $495.7 million, which is 5.7% higher than in the same period of the previous year, including $303.3 million in exports and $192.3 million in imports,” the Minister emphasised.

The interlocutors agreed to facilitate the delivery of Kyrgyz early fruits and vegetables to Kazakhstan, simplify trade procedures and reduce business costs. In this context, the parties expressed interest in promoting partnerships in the mutual electronic exchange of documents.
