On September 8, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev was informed about the current situation in the regions where measures are being taken to suppress the natural disaster, the press office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The Almaty Akim and the heads of administration of East Kazakhstan, Akmola and Karaganda Regions presented the situation reports. They reported on the progress of fire suppression activities in the regions and the priority short-term action plans.
In particular, they reported that an uphill struggle with wildfires continues. The crews of the National Guard and the Armed Forces are also involved in fire suppression activities. All measures are being taken to restore the damage and provide first and other assistance to affected populations. The akims also reported on the socio-economic situation in their regions.
The President instructed the Government to provide the regional branches of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with fire suppression equipment and other necessary tools and appliances in sufficient quantities.
