Kyrgyzstan plans to increase agricultural exports to China

On September 6, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen. The interlocutors focused on strengthening Kyrgyz-Chinese bilateral relations in the economic and trade sectors, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Particular attention was paid to increasing agricultural exports from Kyrgyzstan to China and optimising the work of the checkpoints.

Highlighting the importance of practical measures for the implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, Kulubaev emphasised the prospects and high transit potential of the railway, which will improve regional interconnectivity.

Earlier, Du Dewen met with Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov.

The parties discussed the progress of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, noting that it is an important regional project of strategic importance for boosting economic growth of the three countries.
