The Tajik and German officials took part in an online meeting, which was held in the Federal Republic of Germany. The webinar was entitled “Environmental Protection Technologies for Hydropower and Water Supply”, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
The event was organised at the initiative of the Tajik diplomatic mission in Berlin, the Delegation of German Economy in Central Asia and the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The participants reported on the prospects of economic interaction between the two countries.
They highlighted the importance of expanding partnerships in the hydropower and renewable energy industries. The Ambassador invited the German side to consider participating in investment projects. He called on the authoritative companies to contribute to this cooperation.
Along with the export of gold, aluminium and agricultural products, the Tajik authorities are seeking to make the export of electricity generated by numerous hydroelectric power plants a significant part of the national economy.
