On August 30, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the athletes who won medals in the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games and the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games. He expressed confidence that they will continue to succeed in the future, as reported by «Turkmenistan today».
Berdimuhamedov stressed that the local authorities take all necessary measures to develop the Olympic movement, in particular through the creation of a modern sports infrastructure. According to him, Turkmenistan is actively cooperating with international structures in the field of sports. These are the International Olympic Committee, the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace.
The leader of the country expressed confidence that the Turkmen athletes will continue to raise the image of the country in the international arena. He also wished them good health and happiness.
Prize-winners of international competitions received diplomas and valuable gifts from Berdimuhamedov. After the awards ceremony, a concert and demonstration performances of athletes were organized.
