On August 29, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev held a meeting with Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroui, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported.
Exchanging views on the prospects for building up mutually beneficial cooperation in a number of areas, the interlocutors highly evaluated the current level of partnerships in the trade, economic, transport, logistics, power, renewable energy, agro-industrial and tourism sectors.
The Uzbekistan-UAE investment portfolio includes 17 projects worth $3 billion. The joint Uzbek-Emirate investment company continues to operate.
The interlocutors discussed the progress of the implementation of the privatization projects on the new and existing power units at the Talimarjan thermal power plant by the UAE companies.
The ministers agreed to continue further meetings aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan-UAE cooperation.
