Bishkek and Delhi aim at speedy implementation of social development project

On August 29, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubayev received the copies of the letters of credence of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Kyrgyzstan Arun Kumar Chatterjee, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The interlocutors shared views on the current agenda of Kyrgyzstan-India strategic partnerships and identified priority areas for interaction in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, scientific and technical spheres.

They discussed the exchange of top- and high-level visits, including mutual support within international organisations.

The Minister and the Ambassador discussed the speedy implementation of projects under the Memorandum of Understanding on grant assistance between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of India.

In June, Kyrgyzstan ratified the Memorandum of Understanding on grant assistance with India to implement quick-impact social development projects.

In accordance with the Memorandum, the Government of India is to allocate $1.5 million in grants to Kyrgyzstan.
