On August 25, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attended the official ceremony of presenting state awards and prizes to representatives of various professions. He noted that the Government highly evaluates their contribution to the development of the Republic, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.
Rahmon emphasised that the awardees should be aware of one important thought. It is the duty of every citizen of Tajikistan to ensure the prosperity of the homeland and social stability, the President said.
Over 200 representatives of the scientific community, cultural workers and artists, teachers, poets, writers, agricultural workers and businessmen received state awards in a solemn atmosphere. These are orders, medals, honorary titles, certificates of honour and awards.
Last year, the honorary titles were conferred to more than 120 workers of science, culture, healthcare, goods and service production, local authorities and other officials of Tajikistan in honour of the 30th anniversary of independence. The title of Honoured of Worker of Tajikistan was conferred to 34 people.
