Tokayev approves five-year socioeconomic forecast

On August 23, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a government meeting to discuss the socioeconomic forecast for 2023-2027 and the draft Republican Budget for 2023-2025, the press office of Akorda reported.

Chairman of the Government Alikhan Smailov reported that the increase in real GDP will be at least 3% this year and is expected to rise 4% in 2023. Commenting on the report, the President noted that the forecast is quite balanced.

It was noted that a 50% decrease in transfers from the National Fund in 2023 is a positive chapter of the Republican Budget.

Following the meeting with the government members, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev emphasised the need to ensure thoughtful financial planning and distribution of public funds. In general, the President approved the socioeconomic forecast and the draft Republican Budget, instructing to make some improvements.
