On August 19, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Artykbayev met with Chairman of the Higher Education Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mukhtar Ahmed during his visit to Pakistan. The interlocutors discussed key aspects of bilateral cooperation in the education sector, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The interlocutors highlighted the important role of mutual visits of the delegations in exchanging experiences in teaching methods and education programmes, as well as student and academic exchanges.
Artykbayev informed his interlocutor about the high quality of education at Kyrgyz universities, noting that they have international recognition. In this context, he called on Pakistan to lift restrictions on some medical universities in Kyrgyzstan.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Minister of Commerce of Pakistan Syed Naveed Qamar. The interlocutors considered signing a bilateral agreement on transit trade, setting up working groups on trade, establishing joint ventures and encouraging Pakistani companies to interact with Kyrgyzstan.
