Tokayev reviews development vectors of energy giant Chevron in Kazakhstan

On August 18, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Chevron Michael Wirth, the press office of Akorda reported.

The interlocutors reviewed the next stages of close cooperation between the U.S. energy corporation Chevron and the Central Asian state, as well as the routes of the implementation of a number of investment projects.

The President and the businessman exchanged views on the current situation on the global energy market. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev welcomed Tengizchevroil’s intention to supply additional 2.6 billion cubic metres of gas to the domestic market.

The talks focused on the prospects for involving Chevron in the architecture of ambitious investment projects in the petrochemical industry and the strategies for increasing production capacity of the Karachaganak field.
