On August 10, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Zavki Zavkizoda met with Regional Director for Central Asia at Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (German Development Bank) Andreas Schneider in Dushanbe, the press office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reported.
Discussing the results of mutually beneficial cooperation, the interlocutors noted the great importance of signing an additional agreement on a $17.4 million grant for construction of the Sebzor hydroelectric power station.
The German Development Bank allocated $7.4 million for construction of the Tajik National Park, which opened in GBAO in 2018.
The interlocutors considered attracting grants that would help Tajikistan develop the regions and infrastructure and reduce negative effects of climate change. Zavkizoda and Schneider discussed the prospects of cooperation in developing the digital and green economy.
Since 2002, a total of over 310 million euros in grants have been awarded to implement various projects within financial cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany.
