UNESCO Club opened at Turkmen National Institute of World Languages

The official opening ceremony of the first UNESCO Club in Turkmenistan «Languages of the World» took place in Ashgabat. The association operates at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi. It was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan today».

The club includes students, graduate students, teachers, as well as participants and supporters of the international movement of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The goal of the club is to stimulate the joint activities of its members in the respective areas.

The corresponding association focuses on such areas as intercultural communication, participation in scientific and educational projects. It is planned to organize forums and seminars within the work of the club.

More than 75 years after the founding of the first UNESCO Club in Japan, the movement has got about 4,000 associations in almost 80 countries around the world. The activities of clubs are diverse and very often depend on the interests of their members, as well as on the available financial resources.
