On July 24, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha during his official visit to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The interlocutors discussed key aspects of cooperation in the bilateral, regional and international formats, the press office of the President reported.
The interlocutors discussed the “hottest” issues of regional and international cooperation and reviewed the prospects for promoting Kazakhstan-OIC partnerships. The President of Kazakhstan highly evaluated the constructive algorithms of the OIC activities that contribute to expanding the geography of cooperation in the political, social, economic, environmental and humanitarian deltas.
Noting substantive cooperation with the OIC, the President confirmed that Kazakhstan is ready to further expand contact with Muslim countries on the platform of the OIC.
In conclusion, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev invited Hissein Brahim Taha to visit the capital of Kazakhstan in September to attend the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
