New Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan appointed

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Decree on the appointment of Jamshid Hojaev as Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade, the press office of the Ministry reports.

The newly appointed Minister replaced Sardor Umurzakov in this position. The President appointed Sardor Umurzakov as Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Jamshid Hojaev was born in Kokand in 1979. From 2017 until his new appointment, he served as Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Foreign Trade. He graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economy, studied at the European Institute of Public Administration and has an MBA degree in international economic relations and public administration from the University of Birmingham (UK). He worked at the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Accounts Chamber. Currently, he is Acting Rector of the Tashkent State Agrarian University.

The newly appointed Minister improved his professional skills at the training courses of Commerzbank (Germany), IMF (USA), Standard Bank (South Africa), JPMorgan Chase (USA), Bank of Russia, Natixis (France), KB Kookmin (South Korea), DBS (Singapore) and Credit Suisse (Switzerland).
