Uzbek leader visits construction sites of tourist facilities in Samarkand

On July 15, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the progress of construction work on a number of facilities during his visit to Samarkand, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

The Uzbek leader visited the construction site of the Tourist Centre, where construction work on eight comfortable hotels, a congress hall and the Eternal City caravanserai and improvement work on the rowing canal and the adjacent territory, on which a recreation park will be laid out, are underway.

The Tourist Centre will host international events – forums, food festivals, art meetings.

President Mirziyoyev visited the Imam Bukhari Mausoleum, one of the Muslim shrines in Uzbekistan. Restoration work on the mausoleum and construction work on new facilities for pilgrims and tourists – a new mosque for 10,000 visitors, iwans for guests, parking lots, hotels, a bus terminal, retail outlets and catering facilities are underway.

The reconstructed infrastructure of the object of pilgrimage for believers and tourists will allow receiving tens of thousands of guests every year. The President said a flower garden, which would bloom all year round, should be laid out on its territory.

On that day, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev returned to Tashkent.
