Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov met with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso during his visit to London, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported.
The talks focused on cooperation in encouraging the private sector, including women and youth entrepreneurship, adopting ‘green’ energy technologies in industry and the social sector, building up the export potential of Uzbekistan and investing in various areas of the Uzbek economy.
The parties reviewed the progress of implementation of 16 new projects worth 1 billion euros and exchanged views on the ways for future interaction and acceleration of the projects under discussion.
The EBRD expressed its readiness to work further towards improving the regulatory framework for privatization and creating equal conditions for all business actors.
Following the meeting, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Water Resources and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in management and digitalization of irrigation water supply.
