On June 27, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the presentation of investment projects in the capital of Uzbekistan and reviewed the progress of construction of the Yaengikhayot Technopark, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
In February 2021, President Mirziyoyev signed the decree on the construction of the Yangikhayot Industrial Technopark. The facility occupies an area of 210 hectares. It will house the enterprises that will produce textiles, kitchen appliances, food products, sanitary ware and metal and polyethylene products. They will not only saturate the market with domestic products, but also create thousands of new jobs.
Over 500 projects are to be implemented in Tashkent totally worth about $4 billion in investment. 71 projects worth $120 million have been launched, 5,000 jobs have been created and 450 projects are under development.
While reviewing the projects, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasised that the great prospects exist to develop the service sector, which will create thousands of jobs. In this regard, the President gave specific instructions regarding vocational training employment opportunities for young people and improvement of the quality and range of services.
