The Uzbek rhythmic gymnastics team returned home with 17 medals (10 gold, 5 silver, 2 bronze) of the Asian Championships, which was held in Thailand, the press office of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
Tahmina Ikromova won 3 gold medals in the exercises with hoop, clubs and ball. Another Uzbek gymnast Sabina Tashkenbayeva won a ‘silver’ in the exercise with ball.
The Uzbek athletes won a gold medal in the exercise with three ribbons and two balls in the group competitions.
Evelina Atalyants and Vilana Savadyan from the Uzbek youth gymnastics team brought one more “gold” to the team’s treasury – in the exercises with clubs and ribbon. 5 balls helped the Uzbek athletes ranked second in the tournament.
The representatives of the National Olympic Committee and the Gymnastics Federation of Uzbekistan congratulated the gymnasts on their success at the continental championships.
The Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships was held in Pattaya (Thailand) on June 23-26.
