On June 22, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that Sochi will host the Summer Paralympic Games «We are together. Sports». According to him, over 850 athletes, including Paralympians from Turkmenistan, will take part in them. It was reported by the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia.
The sporting event is scheduled for October 2-9 this year. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in total, 150 athletes from Turkmenistan, Belarus, and Armenia will take part in the games.
Parathletes of Turkmenistan take part in the Asian Paralympic Games regularly. They have also participated in other international sports since 2010.
The corresponding Paralympians will take part in the 4th Asian Para Games, which will take place in Hangzhou, China, on October 9-15, 2022. An estimated 3000 athletes will participate in 22 sports. The team of Turkmenistan plans to present its athletes in two disciplines — para powerlifting and para-athletics.
