Uzbekistan and Russia to boost cooperation in transport

On June 18, Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov met with Programme Director of the Valdai International Discussion Club (Russian Federation) Timofey Bordachev, the press office of the Ministry of Transport reported.

The talks focused on building up Uzbekistan-Russia cooperation in the transport, logistics and transit sectors.

The interlocutors were unanimous that partnerships in these fields is actively developing through the initiatives of the leaders of the two countries, who are interested in strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations.

The Programme Director of the Valdai Club noted that Russian transport operators are seeking to expand the range of export and import services provided to Uzbek enterprises. Russian companies are ready to contribute to the implementation of railway infrastructure modernisation projects in Uzbekistan.

In conclusion, the interlocutors underlined the need to continue to intensify cooperation in the transport sector.

The Valdai International Discussion Club is an expert and analytical centre that offers a platform for discussing global issues and making projections in the fields of politics, economy, energy and security, among others.
