Turkish investors to build soda ash plant in Zhambyl Region

On June 13, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with CEO of Yildirim Group of Companies (Turkey) Robert Yuksel Yildirim. The talks focused on the practical prospects of a package of investment projects in Kazakhstan’s chemical industry implemented by the Turkish company, the press office of Akorda reported.

The top manager of the Turkish company informed the President about the progress of construction works on the large industrial facility worth $400 million that will produce soda ash in Sarysu district of Zhamblyl Region.

The Turkish businessman reported on the progress of the implementation of another major investment project for the extraction and production of chromium concentrate on the Voskhod deposit in Aktobe Region.

The interlocutors discussed the joint plans of cooperation with Kazgeologiya JSC that envisages exploring the “subsoil storerooms” containing the strata of non-liquid minerals in several regions of Kazakhstan.

Commenting on the report, the President of Kazakhstan highlighted the importance of building up mutually beneficial partnerships with Turkey and promised assistance to the Turkish holding in expanding its investment geography.
